Snowy Day

Ok, so this was already two weekends ago, but Court took a break from whittling her fingertips on yet another assignment and we took Sol for a little walk in the snow.  He's not been psyched on the snow so it was fun to see him get into it a little bit.

ready for action!

Melkam Genna - January 7th

Two weeks ago we traveled over the passes to Denver to celebrate Genna (Ethiopian Christmas).  We stayed with some friends and spent the weekend watching the kids play.  Our host's daughter, Ariam, is the same age as Solomon.  Our camera card was nearly full so we only got a few photos of the weekend...

There was lots of jammies time...

Some serious dance party time...

And a trip to the bouncy-house-and-trampoline-center...
(They only did this about 100 times each)

On Saturday afternoon we went to a Genna celebration at an Ethiopian Orthodox church.  It was pretty informal and there was lots of food, games for the kids, and people to meet.  Melkam Genna!

Sol threw paper airplanes with the "big boys" for an hour
And got in on a game that looked a lot like 'duck-duck-goose'
The weather was terrible on Saturday night, so another non-Denver couple stayed and we had a big slumber party.  Their daughter, Elia, is a couple of years older than Ariam and Sol but they all had a lot of fun playing together.

On Sunday afternoon we headed home, glad we made the trip and looking forward to more.
