Our Jack

It's finished.  Not quite what Sol envisioned it would look like in the end, but he was content with it anyways.  As for the flavor of the pumpkin?  Not so much.

Sol got to spend some time drawing the jack-o-lantern face.  He insisted that it have a smile.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch this past Saturday- met up with some friends, made our way around rotten pumpkins, bugs, found our find, managed to make it through the corn maze, then ended the night with some homemade pizza and a little boy staying up well past his bedtime in order to play with a new friend.

Almost felt like Kansas.  Almost.

10-20-11... first snow storm

Have I mentioned that we've already had our first snow storm?  Unbelievable.

Balance and push

Wow.  It's been a long time.  A long, long time.  This makes things a wee bit tricky.  Perhaps I'll start from a few weeks ago....

Yes.  Our boy is a bit of a maniac when it comes to his balance bike.  All the above pictures were taken while riding a trail on McClure Pass.  He went up hills, down hills, and over some pretty awesome rocks.  There were smiles most of the way... and then it was time to turn around.  This last picture, the one featuring Sol on a rock?  It was designated the naughty rock.  Naughty, naughty, naughty.  And that man giving him the stare down?  That's the papa bear.
